Who was/is Rick & Thel Carey ? - CDs, Vinyl LPs, DVD and more

Rick & Thel Carey

When the Australian husband-and-wife team of Rick (born 1927) and Thel (1929-1998) Carey met in 1949, they realized that they shared a love for music by artists such as Tex Morton and Buddy Williams. Consequently, they decided to form a singing duo, eventually marrying in 1952. Their recording career lasted for thirty years, until they were forced to retire when Thel contracted cancer in the early 1980s. She passed away in 1998. Their very first recording, made for Regal Zonophone in 1954, was a version of Jimmie Rodgers' She Was Happy Till She Met You, recorded in Sydney. Today, Rick Carey is retired and living in Denmark, Western Australia.
