Who was/is David Blue ? - CDs, Vinyl LPs, DVD and more
David Blue, a New York folkie, much influenced by Dylan, and his friend in the early Greenwich Village days, was born David Cohen in Rhode Island. He moved to New York at 18. Along with Eric Andersen, Tom Rush and Fred Neil, he gradually moved from folk to contemporary material, and described himself as 'a songwriter not a musician'. Re-corded first for Warner Reprise, then for Elektra (as 'David S. Cohen'), and Asylum. 'Grand Hotel' from David Blue (1966) was one of the better known songs of yet another highly personal singer-songwriter who never made it huge.
