When it comes to the bari it comes to Big Jay. For more than 20 years “Big Jay” has been playing the baritone saxophone alongside of Liverpool ́s legendary saxman “Albie Donnelly” in his band “Albie Donnelly’s Supercharge”. With Supercharge, Big Jay has toured all over Europe: from the biggest Jazz and Blues Festivals to intimate little jazz clubs. TV Shows and recording sessions, gigs from Finland to Dubai - there are so many stages Big Jay has played. He started his musical career in Osnabrück in the mid 90s. Big Jay joined the “Tommy Schnel- ler Band” right after Tommy released his first album. Later Big Jay was offered to play the baritone sax in the horn section of world famous “Albie Donnelly’s Supercharge”, where he is still playing today.
Besides Supercharge, Big Jay plays numerous gigs with: “Saxplosion” along with Albie Don- nelly and former “Average White Band” sax player Molly Duncan. He joined the “Pete York’s Rock and Blues Circus” tour 2019 as special guest where he appeared with Pete York, Miller Anderson, Zoot Money, Albie Donnelly and Roger Glover. Big Jay currently plays the bari sax in Tommy Schneller’s Big Band project and in the horn section of the Jimmy Reiter Band.
