Mark Wenner's Blues Warriors - recorded in February 2018 feat.: Mark Wenner - hca,voc, Clarence Turner - gtr,voc, Mark Stutso drums,voc, Zach Sweeney - gtr and Steve Wolf - bass.

Mark Wenner founder and leader of the legendary blues/roots band The Nighthawks has put together a new solo project featuring some of the Washington, D.C. area's finest blues musicians to play out and have released a new album titled Mark Wenner's Blues Warriors. The band features Wenner on harp and vocals along with Clarence "The Bluesman" Turner on guitar and vocals, Zach Sweeney (Wayne "The Train" Hancock) on guitar, Steve Wolf (Danny Gatton Band) on upright bass and The NightHawks drummer Mark Stutso. Highlights among the twelve cuts are takes on Muddy Water's "Just To Be With You" and a seldom covered "Diamonds at Your Feet", B.B. King 's "My Own Fault" featuring Stutso on vocals, Fats Domino's "Hello Josephine", Slim Harpo's "King Bee" and Sonny Boy Williamson's "Trust My Baby ". A one take original "Just Like Jimmy" in honor of Jimmy Reed and the instrumental "The Hucklebuck" stand out as well. - Bob Silvestri
