(2004 'Music Maker') (34:26/10) Als Bluesgitarristin und -sängerin nimmt sie auch im Mutterland der Musik eine Ausnahmestellung ein. Seit sie 1998 ihr erstes Album unter eigenem Namen aufnahm, trat sie in den namhaften Clubs der USA und bei europäischen Festivals auf. Beverly besitzt eine kräftige Stimme, jedoch keinen eindeutigen Gitarrenstil. Mal klingt sie kraftvoll wie Albert Collins, dann weich wie Wes Montgomery. Und auch ihre Songs spannen einen weiten stilistischen Bogen von Shuffles bis hin zu Soulballaden. Und dennoch: ein äußerst charmantes Alterswerk, das ausschließlich eigene Songs liefert /she's a guitar playing blues vocalist and composer - pretty unique in a men-dominated blues world. Since her re-discovery in the late '90s she has played many major venues in the US, and she made many festival appearances in Europe. Her repertoire covers straight blues, shuffles, soul, jazz, gospel - the whole book of African-American music. All originals. She says, 'People are impressed to see a black woman play like a man.'
