Who was/is The Vettes ? - CDs, Vinyl LPs, DVD and more

The Vettes

The Vettes are actually a family band, but don't be fooled: they don't dance and their father didn't lock them up with the instruments as children in the attic. "To fully understand the concept, one must first reject the preconceived notions of all the stereotypes of real life and fictitious family bands that we all know and hate," says Rachel Vette, lead singer and sister. Rachel, Todd, Chad, Brian and Mitch Vette, together known as The Vettes, are all siblings, although Mitch was "adopted" as an honorary brother in the family in 2005, a few months after joining the band; they began performing together as teenagers and in the early 1920s, as each sibling was individually enlightened with a passion for music in the same year. With influences like Aha, Flock of Seagulls, Depeche Mode, Duran Duran, Oasis and Elastica, The Vettes is the first New Wave/Alternative/Rock outfit created in the 80s. Since 2005 The Vettes have shaped the scene of their hometown New Orleans, La and the USA and have released countless untitled demo CDs before officially releasing their TV EP in 2008 and a full-length album PLASTICVILLE in 2010. Their next release is planned shortly.
