(The Intense Media) 200 Tracks - 1958-1962 - Surf music which spread from California in the 1960s, was party and light-heartedness, but above all an instrumental offshoot of rock'n'roll. Effect-heavy guitars dominate on these ten CDs, on which world-famous groups and artists such as Fireballs, Shadows, Ventures or Duane Eddy can be heard. As the most famous representatives of this style of music, the Beach Boys are not to be missed, their polyphonic singing was strongly influenced by doo-wop groups. The collection also offers a whole series of sought-after rarities for collectors that can hardly be found today as original vinyl singles.
