Various - Jazz in Deutschland Jazz in Deutschland, Teil 2 (3-CD)
Various - Jazz in Deutschland: Jazz in Deutschland, Teil 2 (3-CD)
Jazz in Germany on 12 CDs. 100 years of jazz in Germany - the music of the 20th century. For the first time, the renowned research-author team of Horst H.J. Bergmeier and Dr. Rainer E. Lotz present a comprehensive history of jazz in Germany. Produced exclusively for Bear Family, it covers 12 CDs and includes countless rare original recordings, all of them meticulously and painstakingly restored. Starting with incredibly early recordings from 1899, the set follows with the development of cakewalk and ragtime, followed with classic recordings from the Weimar Republic of Golden Twenties. Swing and jazz continued under the swastika, and, after the War, in both German states. The set covers postwar jazz in all its forms: cool, traditional, and avant garde. This compilation showcases the finest recordings by the best and most interesting soloists and orchestras, as well as international stars on tour in Germany. And for the first time historical player piano and music box rolls are included in premium sound quality. The richly illustrated booklet for each CD box contains information on the music, artists and composers, as well as analysis of the social environment. Please, note: the text is in the German language.

100 Jahre Jazz in Deutschland
100 Years of Jazz in Germany
Music of the 20th century on 12 CDs.
CD 1: The Prehistory of Jazz in Germany.
CD 2: First steps.
CD 3: Jazz conquers Germany.
The renowned team of researchers and authors Horst H. J. Bergmeier and Dr. Rainer E. Lotz presents the first comprehensive documentation of the history of jazz in Germany - on a total of 12 CDs with elaborately restored, rare original sound documents. Beginning with early recordings of the prehistory of 1899, the development of Cake-Walk and Ragtime is documented, followed by a documentation of the Golden Twenties of the Weimar Republic, of Swing, of Jazz under the Swastika, of the rubble jazz of the post-war period in the two German states, of Cool Jazz and traditional Jazz up to the latest developments of avant-garde music.
This compilation of the best recordings of the best and most interesting soloists and orchestras also includes foreign stars on tour. For the first time, contemporary music machines and piano reels in hi-fi quality are also included. The booklet accompanying each CD box contains richly illustrated notes on the music, performers and composers, as well as the social environment.
