He is one of the most important figures on the blues scene in Northern California. The first Gary Smith Blues Band came to life, more than thirty years ago. During these days, Smith had rented a house called the 'Blues Hotel'. Charlie Musselwhite stayed there when he first came to the west coast, from Chicago. Junior Watson lived there. This new record is superb, re-uniting Smith with his long-time guitarist, Junior Watson. Smith plays with a mighty full tone and loves the deeper ranges of the scale.
