(1996 'Hi Horse') (52:07/10) Einer der verrücktesten Vögel in der kalifornischen Musikszene ist zweifellos Lapsteel-Gitarrist Roulette, der in den 60ern u.a. lange Jahre mit Earl Hooker und danach mit Charlie Musselwhite gearbeitet hat. Auf dieser in Form einer losen Jam in Chicago entstandenen CD hält ihn nichts zurück: teils schier unendliche Soli, die gelegentlich einen fast 'psychedelischen' Charakter besitzen. Er ist der Meister dieses Instruments, und wer als Gitarrenfan mal was absolut Ungewöhnliches und Ausgeflipptes hören will, sollte diese CD antesten / Truly one of the craziest instrumentalists from the west coast. The famous lap steel guitar player has worked with Earl Hooker and Charlie Musselwhite in the '60s, and has been a mainstay on the Californian blues scene ever since. This album was spontaneously recorded in Chicago, more a lose jam than a concept album it features lengthy lap steel solos, high energy playing, almost 'psychedelic blues'.
