Vinyl Modern Rockabilly

Vinyl - Modern Rockabilly

Rockabilly has to be on vinyl! It's true as Rockabilly sounds great on CD but even greater on the hot wax of vinyl! So is modern Rockabilly. But what is 'modern' Rockabilly? Many people say that modern Rockabilly does not exist. Rockabilly is Rockabilly. Well, we say modern Rockabilly is the opposite of vintage Rockabilly. We devide original 1950s Rockabilly from more modern sounds in Rockabilly starting out with the period 1970s up to today at present. That does not mean that anything containing an upright slap bass can be found here. Some bands with a slap are filed under Psychobilly as too wild for this category and on the other hand we have Teddy Boy bands playing Rockabilly with an electric bass guitar! It's a wide category ranging from 1970s Teddy Boy sound via 1980s Neo Rockabilly up to today's cracks on the scene like Imelda May, Hillbilly Moon Explosion, Sandy & The Wild Wombats, and Brian Setzer's Rockabilly Riot - to name only a few! Rock the vinyl, boppin' cats!
