Doo Wop

The classical vocal groups showed Presens for the first time in 1920, but in 1948 one could really speak of a doo-wop band.

The polyphonic male songs pressed on LPs and singles seduced the women with their ballads and charm. Many put doo-wop CDs and vinyl records under rock and roll, but we at Bear Family see more of a relationship to rhythm and blues in the music. However, Doo Wop was influenced by Blues, Jazz and Gospel. Let's not argue about the genre in which you sort your vinyl records and CDs, but let's enjoy the unique feelings that the music expresses through its many octaves and lyrics.
