Conny Quick was born Jørgen Brandt in Denmark in 1931. He worked as a sound assistant in a film studio and got his first contacts with the record industry there. In 1957 he sang the track Don't Be Cruel and was considered the best Danish Elvis copy. When rock'n'roll arrived in Denmark, he got his first record contract.

After his first Danish success with 89 råd (Ninety-Nine Ways), he also attracted attention in Germany. Under the name Conny Quick, he released several singles in Germany between 1957 and 1959, almost exclusively cover versions of successful English-language titles. His biggest successes were Immer mehr und mehr (That'll Be The Day) (1957) and Herzensdieb (Bird Dog) (1958) in Germany, and Heksedoktor (Witch Doctor) in Denmark.

In addition to his solo career, Jørgen Brandt performed with Erik Aae Jensen as the duo The Hit-Makers in 1957-1960. In 1960 he collaborated with the newly formed The Cliffters, after which it became quiet around him. Here his hits appear on CD for the first time.
