Schottische Rockgruppe mit Vorliebe für der Erfolg in den USA, wo „Magic harmonische und melodische Songs, wie im Sommer 1975 in den Hitparade sie die Beatles schrieben. Durch die ge- zierte. meinsame Arbeit als Studiomusiker lern-ten sie sich in Edinburgh 1971 kennen. Neueste LP: „Second Flight" Nebenbei komponierten Bassist David Paton (geboren 29.10.1951 in Edinburgh) und Organist Billy Lyall (geboren 26. 3. 1953 in Edinburgh) in ihrer Freizeit Songs, die sie im Studio aufnahmen und dann als Tonbänder nach London schickten.
Das brachte ihnen und ihren Freunden Sologitarrist lan Bairnson (geboren 3. 8.1953 in GIetohopp/Shetland-Inseln) und Schlag-zeuger Stuart Tosh (geboren 26. 9.1951 in Aberdeen) den Plattenvertrag ein. Erst danach wurde Pilot als Gruppe aus der Taufe gehoben. Der erste Hit war im Herbst 1974 „Magic".
