(1998 'Severn') (48:28/12) Die Produktion klingt ausgezeichnet, die Band ist hervorragend, und auch Darrell ist in guter Verfassung. Stilistisch geht's von Blues Smith bis hin zu souligen Balladen, die manchmal leicht am Kitsch vorbeischliddern. Der Ansatz stimmt, für die Zukunft würde ich mir noch ein wenig mehr stilistische Einheit wünschen. Ein gutes wenngleich nicht sensationelles Album / This production sounds excellent, the band's swinging and cooking, and also Darrell's in good shape. Besides his originals he's covering blues tunes in the styles of Jimmy Reed, or George Smith. Some arrangements of the soul tunes are a little overloaden, though. A fine if not a sensational release.
