This CD is a collection of dance band arrangements transcribed from recordings originally made during the 1920s by Los Angeles dance orchestras. Why Los Angeles? Because Mora's Modern Rhythmists are based in L.A., and it would be remiss of a group such as this one not to devote at least one album to the musical heritage of its home town.

Secondly, to show that not all the great dance music of the era came just from New York and Chicago. Though certainly not in the same league as those other two cities in terms of musical output and quality, Los Angeles did contribute no small part to the musical lore of this period in American history.
