Halloween

Halloween is a traditional rite in-between the Christian holy days Reformation Day and All Saints' Day on the evening and night from 31st October to 1st of November.  It's the night of horror! A traditional night of disturbance comparably to Walpurgis night and New Year's Eve. A night before the Catholic remembrance of the deceased and the poor souls in the purgatory. It's also the night of the profane rite to conjure the coming winter season for mildness.

The definition of Halloween

The definition of Halloween is derived from 'All Hallows' Eve' (the evening before All Saints' Day).

Halloween primarily comes from Irish Catholic regions. Its emigrants brought the rite to America following the tradition in remembrance of their old Irish homeland and spread the celebration all over the new world.

The Halloween celebration take place since the old Celtic times with a continuing influence of pagan and Celtic traditions such as the  'Samhain'. The Irish renaissance in the second part of the 19th century popularized the Halloween rites in America.

 The modern Halloween

The modern Halloween will be celebrated in an immense U.S. American influencial format under the strong influence by Hollywood movies since the 1990s as well in Europe. But there are regional differences if one thinks about the different traditional pumpkin growing areas, the Scandinavian trolls or the German turnip ghosts.

The modern Halloween of today like all other traditional celebrations is in strong favor of the industries for marketing. And in the music industry too of course! We put together a huge stock of various horror and Halloween sound carriers for your celebration. There's no real Halloween without the convenient sound!
