John McEuen

Record Labels: Warner Brothers Erster Hit: Blue Days Black Nights (1985) John McEuen, Sänger und Multitalent auf Gitarre, Fiddle, Banjo und Mandoline, wurde beeinflusst vom Folk-Music-Boom der 60er Jahre, von Elvis Presley und Jerry Lee Lewis. Mit Hilfe seines Bruders Bill stieß John zu einer folkorientierten Rockgruppe, die sich „Illegitimate Jug Band” nannte und aus der dann die ,Nitty Gritty Dirt Band“ wurde. John McEuen`s Karriere wurde dann auch wesentlich durch die Nitty Gritty Dirt Band bestimmt, obwohl er, was durchaus üblich ist, immer wieder solistische Unternehmungen wagte. 1985 zum Beispiel spielte er eine L.P. für Warner Brothers ein, er unternahm immer wieder Solo- Tourneen und Ende 1986 trennte er sich sogar wieder von der Nitty Gritty Dirt Band, um mehr Zeit für sich und seine eigene Musik zu haben.
