geb. 20. 7. 1898 in Ashville/ North Carolina gest. 12.6. 1971 in Concord/ North Carolina Record Labels: RCA, King, Blue Jay, Rural Rhythm, Old Timey,Arhoo1ie, Pine Mountain Joseph E. Mainer war einige Jahrzehnte lang Chef der Old-Time-Gruppe ,Mainer's Mountaineers“. In den 30erJahren zählten die „Mountaineers“ zu den populärsten Gruppen des Genres, die allein 200 Titel für RCA auf Schallplatten hinterließen. Die wichtigsten Musiker der Gruppe waren Wade Mainer, Banjo; Papa John Love, Gitarre; Zeke Morris, Mandoline, Gitarre und J.E.Mainer, Fiddle.
