Who was/is Little Eva ? - CDs, Vinyl LPs, DVD and more

Little Eva,

born Eva Narcissus Boyd on June 29, 1945, in Bellhaven, North Carolina, moved to New York while in her teens. Here, legend insists, she was baby-sitting for Carole King and Gerry Goffin when they asked her to re-cord a new song they had written. The result was 'The Locomotion'. With the Cookies, of 'Chains' fame, as back-up singers, it went to No. 1 in 1962.

A string of computerized dance hits followed, including 'Keep Your Hands Off My Baby', 'Let's Turkey Trot' and 'Old Smokey Locomotion', all on the Dimension label, on which Eva's sister, Idaho Boyd, recorded 'Hula Hooping'. Despite several far more soulful records (on Amy, Spring and others), Eva didn't have any more big hits.
