(1999 'Blues Beacon') (53:54/12) Ein rundherum gelungenes Album: exzellente Musiker, gefühlvoll 'rübergebracht, hervorragend aufgenommen und abgemischt, attraktives Cover - mit einem Fehler: leider nur zwei eigene Nummern, und die meisten der Fremdtitel kennt man zur genüge. Schade. Mit etwas mehr eigenen Ideen könnte Al Jones bei uns so erfolgreich werden wie Sven Zetterberg in Skandinavien. Das Zeug dazu hat er allemal / an excellent album by one of Germany's most soulful guitar players, heavily underrated by fans and critics. Great sound, good production, wonderful playing and tasty vocals. Too bad only two songs are originals. AL JONES - gtr/voc, DAVID HOLLSTEIN - gtr, THILO KREITMEIER - sax, PETER SCHMID - bass, OSKAR PÖHNL - drums. Special guests: JOHANN FLIEGAUF - hca, MARKUS HUMMEL - org.
