Zusammen mit seinem Freund und Partner Guitar Gabriel betrieb Gitarrist Macavine Hayes ebenfalls einen dieser Läden in Winston-Salem, North Carolina. Diese CD spiegelt die schlichte, jedoch charmante Spielweise einer Combo an jenen Orten wider. Blues in seiner ursprünglichen Form / Drink houses in the Southeast, like juke joints in Mississippi, are still a vital part of the blues community. Mostly open on weekends only they were and still are a social meeting point and a spot for spontaneous jam sessions. Guitarist Macavine Haynes, along with his partner Guitar Gabriel ran a drinking house himself in North Carolina. The music on this CD reflects the sounds coming out of these places: raw, anthying but perfect, yet charming and soulful.
