The fact that this 4-CD set begins with five tracks by blues legend Bo Diddley (taken from a 3/25/72 benefit concert for Hell's Angels) should be enough to get Dead collectors' synapses firing.

The fact that the final three discs present a complete March 28, 1972 show that is very Europe '72 in its setlist (with many early performances of songs that ended up on the album) but with that extra something that playing in New York always seemed to stir in the band, all recorded by Dead sound engineer Betty Cantor-Jackson, explains why this Dick's Picks volume met with almost universal acclaim upon its original release. Now in HDCD sound and debuting in record stores. Double bonus: the Dead's lone interpretations of How Sweet It Is (to Be Loved by You) and Are You Lonely for Me!
