Geboren am 23. 3. 1940 in Cardiff - Wales. Begann ihre Karriere Ende der 50er jahre, als sie für Billig-Labels die erfolgreichen Chart-Hits anderer Interpreten nach sang. Auf Embassy, Oriole und CBS veröffentlichte sie bis 1968 knapp 40 Singles, von denen fünf die UK-Charts erreichten. Ihr größter Erfolg: 'Like I Do', das 1962 bis auf Rang 3 kam. Als Beat und Rhythm & Blues das Kommando übernahmen, musste die Sängerin erkennen, dass ihr eher altbacken anmutendes Nachkriegsmaterial keine Chance mehr beim jungen Publikum hatte. Evans lebt noch heute in ihrer Geburtsstadt und ist Eigentümerin und Leiterin einer Schauspielschule für Kinder, Jugendliche und Senioren, “The Maureen Evans Centre Theatre School' in 6 West Grove, Cardiff.
