Strange as it may sound, at the end of the truly rocking year 1957, Elvis surprised the public by releasing a Christmas record. You got to keep in mind, Elvis was banned pelvis upward on TV and the composer of "White Christmas," Irving Berlin, promoted to ban the King's season's greetings from "white" radio stations. Some say it is the most beautiful Christmas record of all time - it definitely is the most successful one. It seems everybody bought a copy.
At least in 1957, Holidays without Elvis' Christmas Album were like getting no tree.
