During 2014, Fred Chapellier and Dale Blade met at the Cahors Blues Festival. Three years later, the two musicians finally turned to a joint music project.
Dale grew up in New Orleans, Louisiana, and through his father, who was also an R&B singer, quickly got to know a variety of good soul and blues singers such as Chuck Carbo, Jesses Hill, Fats Domino, Lil Milton, BB and Albert King as well as Cyril Neville. Through his special musical environment Dale was able to combine all these styles and rhythms over time and create and find his own way of expression. Fred Chapellier recognized this potential and Dale could also empathize with Fred's musical skills as a band leader, so there was no question of playing together in a band.
Fred has worked with renowned American and European singers from Otis Clay and Billy Price to French stars such as Jacques Dutronc and Johnny Hallyday. And as far as soul- and blues-shouters are concerned, Dale is the epitome of the possible for Fred. Through this special partnership between the two, he was able to concentrate on what he likes to do best: composing and playing the guitar. This album was created out of love for music and Fred and Dale, together with the band, manage to convey it to the listener in an absolutely high-quality and emotional way.
