Er hat über 350 Songs geschrieben, viele davon selbst aufgenommen und ist allein mit Autry in 81 Filmen aufgetreten. Weitere Partner im Showgeschäft waren Roy Rogers, Eddie Dean, Charles Starrett und Sunset Carson.
