Der Brite - mit bürgerlichem Namen Peter Lee Stirling - ist auf der Insel schon lange als Komponist bekannt. Er arbeitete mit an Tom Jones erstem Großhit „It's not unusual', schrieb für Kathy Kirby den Song „I Belong', und für sich selbst Titel wie „Daddy, Don't You Walk So Fast', „Beautiful Sunday' oder „AnnabeIle'. Trotz seiner internationalen Hitparadenerfolge blieb Daniel Boone ein zurückhaltender Künstler, der seine Hauptaufgabe nicht als Interpret, sondern nach wie vor als Komponist sieht.
