Black Patti: Satan's Funeral (CD)
In blues & gospel, the only thing between heaven and hell is Saturday evening in the wild 'juke joint' and Sunday morning in the pious house of worship. They are opposites and yet fatefully interwoven. Black Patti dedicates her new album to the spiritual and gospel tradition. Enthused by the recordings, the world-famous illustrator and founding father of the underground comix scene, Robert Crumb, without knowing the band personally, designed the cover artwork.
Black Patti - that's Peter Crow C. and Ferdinand 'Jelly Roll' Kraemer. For over 10 years, the two blues & roots musicians have been touring together on international stages and festivals. In two voices, handmade and uncensored, the multi-award-winning duo tells stories in their songs that life writes.
. Musically, Black Patti is oriented towards the unique blend of rural styles that emerged in the USA before the Second World War. With their extremely varied repertoire, the South Germans present filigree-artful and touching roots music between deep black Delta blues, bouncy ragtime and soulful spirituals.
. Their music moved the world-famous illustrator, founding father of the underground comix scene and prewar blues specialist Robert Crumb. He designed the cover artwork for the current album 'Satan's Funeral' (2021).

Black Patti:
Peter Crow C. - guitar, vocals
Ferdinand Kraemer - mandola, vocals Tracks: A13, B7
Black Patti, named after a short-lived Jazz/Blues record label in 1927, have dedicated them- selves to the early roots of acoustic blues. The German duo consists of professional musicians Peter Crow C. (guitar, slide, harmonica, vocals) and Ferdinand Kraemer (a.k.a. Mr. Jelly Roll, guitar, mandolin, vocals). Taking the road typically less travelled by today’s performers of this genre, Black Patti draw upon inspiration provided by early Blues artists to write and arrange their own music.
With a two-voiced harmony, impressive instrument mastery and a capturing stage presence, Black Patti have taken the European Blues scene by storm, with their own nuanced version of early American Blues. Black Patti is not a Blues cover band. Black Patti write and play their own innovative songs, arrangements and interpretations of early, traditional American Blues.
