The eleven-track project was produced by the Grand Ole Opry's celebrated musician, the late Jimmy Capps. Capps and Bandy completed the album before he passed away earlier this year.  

A Love Like That contains melodies from many prominent Nashville songwriters, including Bill Anderson (City Lights), Jeannie Seely (Life of a Rodeo Cowboy), Eddy Raven (The Last of the Sunshine Cowboys) and Bo.

"A Love Like That is one of the most entertaining albums I've ever cut," Bandy says. "We worked really hard to pick the right songs for this record and I think we did just that. I'm looking forward to this new album coming back to the market and bringing the new music to the fans.

Bandy, der Hank Williams als sein großes Vorbild nennt, blieb knapp 10Jahre ein Top Star mit zahlreichen Hitparadenerfolgen. Dann begann sein Stern zu sinken. ,Ich war zu lange bei ein und derselben Firma“ erläuterte er in einem Interview und wechselte prompt von Columbia zur MCA.
