Mirage by The Awakening is a little less political/Pan-African than its predecessor Hear, Sense and Feel, which definitely has some of the band's Art Ensemble of Chicago/AACM roots. The sound of the record is a bit more abstract, a bit more varied in its moods and textural colors, but no less powerful and stirring.

The album is being reissued on LP for the first time and comes newly remastered (by Mike Milchner at Sonic Vision).
