Who was/is Argent ? - CDs, Vinyl LPs, DVD and more
Gegründet im März 1969 von Organist Rod Argent (geboren 14. 6.1945 in St. Albans). Rod wurde berühmt als Mitglied der englischen Gruppe Zombies. Sie löste sich 1967 auf, nachdem sie mit „Time of the Season' und „She's not there' zwei Welthits hatte. Mitglieder von Argent waren bei der Gründung: Bassist Jim Rodford (geboren 7.7.1943 in St. Albans), Schlagzeuger Robert Hendrit (geboren 2. 5.1944 in Broxbourne) und Sänger und Gitarrist Russ Ballard (geboren 31.10. 1946 in Waltham Cross). Ihr erstes Konzert gab die Gruppe am 3. 3.1970 in New York. Ihr musikalisches Konzept des mehrstimmigen Gruppengesanges und von raffinierten Arrangements verhalf ihr sofort zum Durchbruch. Russ Ballard trennte sich nach der Aufnahme der LP „Nexus“ von seinen Freunden und machte sich selbständig. Seine Nachfolger wurden Gitarrist und Sänger John Verity und Gitarrist John Grimaldi.
